Palawan, Philippines
Corong Corong, El Nido
Maligaya Beach Bungalows sits directly on Corong Corong Beach, the long sandy stretch south of El Nido town on the Bacuit Bay coast of Palawan. It is the quieter side of the area: the same bay, the same karst horizon, with far less of the traffic and noise that fill the town center in the evenings.
The town itself is a short tricycle ride away, which makes it easy to head in for dinner or errands and come back to a beach that feels calm again. Island-hopping boats work this part of the coast too, so departures and returns happen close to where you are staying instead of at the other end of El Nido.

The view
Bacuit Bay and the karsts
The limestone cliffs rising out of Bacuit Bay are what most people picture when they think of El Nido, and from Corong Corong they sit right across the water. The silhouettes shift through the day, sharp in the morning light and softened into layers by late afternoon haze.
This coast faces the evening sun, which is why Corong Corong is known for its sunsets. The bay quiets down as the boats come in, and the beach becomes one of the better places in El Nido to simply sit and watch the light go. It is a reliable end to almost every day here, and one of the few things worth planning around.
